In 2011 Oprah aired a show called How to Look and Feel 20 Years Younger that featured health experts like Dr. Oz and Bob Greene who all gave advice in their fields, we also met her (and every one else in Hollywood’s) dermatologist Dr. Harold Lancer who gave us our our first glance into his ‘polish, cleanse, nourish’ regimen that he’s been educating his clients on for the last 30 years. That day he also launched a line of skincare which of course sold out in hours (and yes I was online trying to buy it too.) Today you can find Dr. Lancer’s high tech line at Nordstrom, Neiman’s, and Bergdorf’s where the groundbreaking formulas are gaining popularity because of the almost immediate results they give.
Case in point.
I was sent his Younger: Pure Youth Serum around the same time I visited my derm and stocked up on retin a and several more products to get my skin in better shape. After a few weeks using retin a I had to stop. The flaking and dullness was too much to bear. I know it may have been my skin ‘purging’ but there seemed to be no end in sight for the daily shedding around my mouth and forehead that would last throughout the day no matter how much moisturizer I used. It happens every single time I try to use it so I finally gave it up and replaced it with the Younger serum. Like Retin A, this serum contains retinol-like compounds that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin and also speeds up cell turnover which basically means that new cells come up to the surface faster so that old skin is replaced by the new leaving your face looking healthy, brighter, and revitalized. The science in this bottle is pretty incredible. I’ve read through the literature several times now and it makes my head spin the way certain peptides and enhancers literally tell your skin to switch on mechanisms to act younger. Science aside, when I started using it I could see such an incredible difference in less than a week. The softness, brightness, and overall healthy look it brought to my skin was pretty amazing. It’s not cheap, but totally worth checking out if you’re unhappy with your skin and are looking for real improvements.
