True Botanicals is where you will find your forever skincare. Their powerful blends of plant actives create formulas that are truly unique and offer serious results. True Botanicals’ founder Hillary Peterson found out at just 32 that she had thyroid cancer and wanted to make real changes to her lifestyle that would support her body’s ability to heal which is how this clean line was born. Not only are the formulations largely organic, but they’re also wildly-harvested, Leaping Bunny and PETA certified, and responsibly sourced. It’s also one of the few beauty brands that carries the Made Safe seal, a comprehensive safety and sustainability standard. It’s as clean as it is effective with a superpower ingredient in their iconic serum that nobody else uses.
Pure Radiance Oil
Pure Radiance Oil proves the point that clean doesn’t have to mean simple as it contains over 30 organic oils and extracts including oils of camellia, grape, avocado, marula, hemp, chia, watermelon, borage, and rosehip just to name a few. It contains a high concentration of Omega 3 fatty acids that makes my skin feel supple and plump. It’s a clarifying serum that brightens while keeping breakouts away. It really does it all and I would say I started seeing a difference in my skin around the 3 day mark when my face had a fresh-from-a-facial glow and felt balanced all day. A randomized double blind study concluded that Pure Radiance Oil was superior to Créme de La Mer in hydration, smoothness, firmness, and decreasing fine lines, and pores.
Chebula Active Serum
True Botanicals’ website describes Chebula as an ayurvedic fruit and one of the most bioactive and powerful antioxidants in nature with a score higher than açaí. It’s the star ingredient in Chebula Active Serum that targets signs of aging for firmer, brighter, smoother skin. I loved this unique serum from the first application. It has an aloe base which feels very light and my skin drinks it right up. It’s a perfect base serum for priming for the Radiance Oil or to use after a drmaroller. If your concerns are unevenness, fine lines, texture, dullest, and spots, this is the serum you need. It’s a complete star.
Nourishing Cleanser
I’m typically a foaming cleanser kinda gal but Nourishing Cleanser has really been a nice change of pace. It has a nice creamy consistency that doesn’t break down so I can massage it in and cleanse away sunscreen, dirt, and makeup. Aloe, green tea extract, and oils of lavender, jasmine, and grapefruit to name a few combine to create the most intoxicating floral scent. A little goes a very long way and the scent slightly lingers on the skin even after the cleanser is washed away.
Vitamin C Booster
Years ago I bought their Vitamin C Booster, a powder form for pure Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid that you sprinkle into your moisturizer to supercharge it. Since vitamin c is a finicky ingredient that degrades quickly, it’s most stable in powder form which can then be added to any water-based skincare giving you the freshest dose of C for your skin. Great idea, right?
If you haven’t tried True Botanicals yet, I know you won’t be disappointed. Give it a try and let me know which serum is your new fave.
